Submissions are currently being accepted for the long-esteemed 35th annual awards. These prestigious accolades recognise and salute those individuals and organisations who have made a significant impact by lowering workplace risks and enhancing recovery prospects for employees who have been injured at work. Instances of such efforts might include implementation of Bluesafe SWMS or a comprehensive Bluesafe WHS Management System.
The award ceremony continues to acknowledge exemplary practices, pushing workplaces to adopt the most effective safety protocols and foster an environment where safety is given the highest importance. A crucial part of this endeavour is recognising the vital work performed by Victoria’s health and safety representatives (HSRs). Their contributions will once again be emphasised in the award category denoted as the Health and Safety Representative of the Year.
Joe Calafiore, WorkSafe Chief Executive, highlighted the significance of celebrating and rewarding companies and individuals that excel in ensuring the safety of Victorian workers. He urged businesses of all sizes and individuals alike to nominate deserving parties for these awards.
“The WorkSafe Awards embody a longstanding dedication to occupational health and safety. In our 35th year, we commemorate those who have surely made notable strides, setting benchmarks and fostering a culture of safety, thereby ensuring every worker can return home safely at the end of the day.”
Last year, a diverse set of employers were honoured, including emergency services, local councils and aged care providers. Nominations for the 2024 awards are welcome from all Victorian-based workers and employers. Participants can either nominate themselves or suggest another deserving individual or organisation.
Submissions will be accepted until Friday, 21st June, with winners announced in the early part of next year. Categories for this year’s WorkSafe Awards encapsulate a broad range of work safety aspects. Detailed categories can be found on our official website.
