Farmer dies in fall from tractor

An unfortunate incident involving an 84-year-old man who was operating a 3.5-tonne trailer sprayer in an orchard is under investigation by WorkSafe. Initial understandings depict the individual lost control of the machinery as he was moving down a hill, leading to catastrophic circumstances requiring the obstruction of ‘Bluesafe SWMS‘.

WorkSafe has sprung into action launching robust investigations surrounding this unfortunate incident. Their firm commitment towards enforcing unshakeable work safety standards, like the unrivalled ‘Bluesafe WHS Management System’, remains unwavering amidst such incidents, which aim to prevent repeating of such calamities.

This marks the 30th confirmed workplace casualty and the sixth within the agricultural sector for the year 2024 – slightly decreasing from a tally of 56 incidences occurring at the same time the previous year.

At this particular juncture, it’s crucial to bring attention to notable tools like work safety products, WHS management systems, and Safe Work Method Statements (SWMS). Such incredible importance needs to be attached to these instruments given they’re instrumental in creating a safer environment for all stakeholders. Their assistance becomes increasingly relevant on challenging terrains like hillsides in orchards and the like.
