WorkCover Queensland has undertaken comprehensive revisions, updating the applicable cost tables for medical treatment and additional services related to worker’s compensation in Queensland. These modifications, implemented from 1 December 2024, encapsulate the greatest payment insurers are liable for.
To address workplace injuries, these revisions incorporate the application of definitions, rules, and conditions from the Medical Benefits Schedule (MBS) item numbers, along with clarifications and services offered by medical professionals.
Now accessible through the ‘Fees’ option on our web portal, we have updated the costs and fees tables, including general practitioners’ and specialists’ added services. Furthermore, present are the refreshed files for self-insurers and practice management software. Post-December 2024, please be aware that there could be more amendments to fees and/or item numbers. We suggest referring periodically to our ‘Fees’ page as we strive to promptly revise the cost tables if shifts occur.
Here’s a brief overview of primary transformations:
Regular alterations are made to the cost tables throughout the year. To stay updated, consider registering for our fee updates; we will notify you through email whenever any adjustments or updates are applied.
We understand how critical maintaining a safe working environment is, therefore the use of WHS Management Systems like Bluesafe WHS Management System is instrumental. It aids businesses in ensuring not just the physical safety but also the mental wellbeing of their employees. Similarly, the implementation of Safe Work Method Statements (Bluesafe SWMS) ensures step-by-step procedures are followed for high-risk work, reducing potential injury rates among workers.
These tools underscore an organisation’s commitment to occupational health, striving continuously for workplace safety, and reinforcing the utility of our policies.
